Geographical Indication, Agricultural Products Export and Urban–Rural Income Gap

The Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party China put forward implementation a rural revitalization strategy, which is an important way to achieve common prosperity for all people, as promoting farmers’ income increase and narrowing urban–rural gap are key prosperity. So, under background vigorously strategy in China, it very explore effect realization mechanism geographical indication (GI) on reducing gap. Based statistical data 31 provinces from 2008 2019, this empirical study uses spatial Durbin model (SDM) analyze relationship between GI gap, stepwise regression method used mediating agricultural product exports it. results show that: (1) potential economic value branding can reduce each additional unit region will difference by 0.160 units, neighboring regions 0.133 units. result still consistent after changing proxy variable robustness test; (2) brand form stronger competitive advantage foreign trade promote export level products; (3) narrow through products, plays effect. In future, government should not only strengthen management protection but also actively market products. Promoting international mutual recognition ensure improve GI.
